    “Magical” – A Modern Twist to an Ancient Art Form

    With your mother’s overbearing force, many of you were introduced to Bharathanatyam at a delicate age. While some worked diligently in class, others dreaded the experience entirely. Growing up, I had absolutely no appreciation for this art form. My distaste was cultivated from the expectation to stay quiet in one lone chair for hours and hours, program after program. The idea of Bharathanatyam was tarnished for me, which remained the case until I revisited the art form in my University years.

  • The Winter Affair Recap

    On February 4th, “The Winter Affair” was held at a downtown rooftop patio. This singles-event series provides an opportunity to network and meet other singles in an informal setting. The event was a huge success, with over 120 people in attendance. Games were played, prizes were won and DJ Kid Kandy turned up the beats with his unique video mixing. All proceeds went to BuildChange, a project to raise wells for war-affected areas in Sri Lanka. The organizers would like to thank everyone in attendance, as well as all the volunteers. Look for more events from this group, coming soon!

  • ”5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0” – All Engines Running. Lift Off, We Have Lift Off!

    As an avid music listener, I was one of the millions around the world counting down the days to the release of Watch the Throne. To each their own but I will say that this album was nothing short of the hype surrounding it. My favourite track? Lift Off. Not only does that song make you want to get up and do something with your life but it brings together three of the biggest names in the music industry: Kanye, Jay Z, and Beyonce. Three powerhouses if you will.
